A breast lift, also known as mastopexy, is a cosmetic surgery procedure designed to raise and reshape sagging breasts. During the procedure, the surgeon will make incisions, typically around the areola, vertically down the breast, or under the breast fold, depending on the degree of sagging. While a breast lift focuses primarily on lifting and reshaping the breasts, it does not significantly alter their size. For patients desiring increased breast volume, a breast lift can be combined with breast augmentation using implants or fat transfer.

Recovery from a breast lift varies but generally involves some swelling, bruising, and discomfort, which subsides over time. Patients are encouraged to wear a support bra and avoid strenuous activities for a few weeks. With proper care, the results can be long-lasting, offering a more youthful and rejuvenated breast appearance. It is important for individuals to have realistic expectations about the outcome and understand that while the procedure can enhance breast shape, it will not stop the aging process.
