Our RN and I both had facial Selphyl injections three weeks ago. We both like the look and feel more than traditional fillers. Our families and co-workers have told us that we look more vibrant and youthful but not “plastic”. This is a good testament as families and cosmetic surgery co-workers can be quite critical. After 2-3 days our initial temporary swelling had subsided. We have not had any side effects. Some intial tenderness did not require any medications, not even Tylenol. We both were aggressive in the amount of volume that was injected. Our cheeks are fuller, the eyes brighter and the nasolabial folds less noticeable. In theory the platelet rich plasma that was injected will attract/enhance growth factors to continue to plump up the desired areas that had deflated with age. We are hopeful for approximately a year of cosmetic benefit.
I personally like to be the guinea bunny when we are researching new technologies and products. I feel more confident when I make a recommendation to our patients.
